1. Parking
To ensure smooth access and minimal disruption to local traffic and residents please follow these instructions:
Drop-Off: Tents at the Stewart Park Car Park, then park at the Sports Village.
Parking: Middlesbrough Sports Village (TS4 3AE) is 500m from the course. Please use the pedestrian crossing on Ladgate Lane.
2. Timetable and Course
Undulating, elevation of 30m (across large lap), suitable for spikes as course is entirely on grass and dirt trail.

3. Entry Information

• Eligibility: Entrants must be 9 or 10 on the day or not eligible for the U13 age group under the August 31st ruling. Medals sponsored by Bill McGuirk.
• Championship Race Entries: Available on the Sportsoft website.

4. Race Day Logistics
• Race Number Collection:
o Race HQ is located in a room in the courtyard near the children’s play
park.
o Collection from 9:15 am, by team managers only (max two per club)
before 12:00 pm. No individual athlete collection.
o Managers must print their name and leave a mobile number.
o There will be club male and female envelopes.
• Facilities:
o Toilets in the courtyard near the children’s play park (do not use for
cleaning spikes).
o Refreshments at Cook’s Café (top of course) and Henry’s Café
(courtyard).
o Start Fitness will be in attendance.
o First Aid & Lost Children: Located at the finish (First Aid Tent).
• Venue Care: The park will be used by the general public. Please also ensure
the venue is left litter-free.
5. Presentations & Trophies
• Individual Presentations: Immediately after each race.
• Team Presentations: Listen for announcements.
• Unclaimed Trophies: Team managers to collect.
• Return of 2024 Trophies: All individual and team trophies must be returned clean and engraved to the presentation tent by the finish on race day.
6. Rules & Regulations
• Disqualification: Anyone wearing NYSD or NEHL numbers will be disqualified.
• UKA Rules:
o Club vests must be worn (Rule 5.3).
o Numbers as issued (not folded, cut, or mutilated) (Rule 5.9).
o Headphones are not permitted (Rule 5.6).
o Spitting is prohibited (Rule 18.5 – may result in warning or disqualification).
• Medical Info: Complete the template on the reverse of your race number.
7. Inter-County Selection
• Automatic Selection: First 4 in each age category.
• Club Secretaries: By 31st December forward contact details (name, address, email, mobile) of:
o First 10 in each race (first 15 senior men/women).
o Any athlete of county standard who missed the championships.

o This info is for records only; first 10/15 finishers are not guaranteed selection.
o Selected athletes will be notified after the selection meeting following the Northern Championships at Pontefract (24th January).
o Inter County Championships: Wollaton Hall, Nottingham – March 8th.
o Current form at Northern Championships will be important. If unable to run, other XC results may be considered if selectors are informed (including NEHL, NYSD, and county schools championships).
