SUNDERLAND Harriers pulled out all the stops to make sure their popular 5k went ahead after the course around Silksworth lakes was
deemed unsuitable due to damage at a major point on the circuit. With the event including the Northern Athletics, North East Counties
and North East Masters Championships, Jimmy Johnson and his team quickly set into action and quickly found an alternative which started and finished on the Silksworth track, a course which found to be to the liking to the majority of competitors who lined up in the two races.
