Read Time:2 Minute, 50 Second

I’m sure most of you are now familiar with using Roster online to enter events, and the Roster app to view your entries, start lists and results – if not, you can check out our guide HERE

  • Remember you need to arrive in plenty of time to collect your number, and as this is the first event of the season everyone else will be doing the same, so plan to get to the stadium as soon as possible (numbers will be available for collection from 5pm, with the registration desk usually being situated on the apron behind the clubhouse at Monkton).
  • Remember to bring pins! (Because sometimes we forget ours!)
  • You can view which heat or pool you are in on the Roster app and the time the event is taking place – the simplest way is to search for your name in the search bar, and then you will see the event(s) you are in, followed by the time and letter of your heat. Make sure you are looking at the time of your heat (labelled Final A, B etc.), not the summary (labelled Finals Summary). If you are using the web version of Roster, after you search for your name you’ll need to click on the screen where your name and event are listed and it’ll take you to the heat you’re in. Make a note of the heat letter (A, B etc.) then click on the start list/schedule heading and you’ll see the list of events/heats with the times they take place. The Roster app is much simpler to use and highly recommended.
  • Times for Pool B of the field events are approximate due to the nature of the events – listen to announcements and be prepared to report any time after 7.30pm if called.
  • You must report to the call room area before your event – 10 minutes beforehand for track, and 20 minutes for field. If you don’t register with the call room you won’t show on the start lists so will miss your race. If you get there after the cut-off time, you’ll also miss your race. Don’t miss your race!!
  • If you are doing a track AND a field event, and there is a danger of overlap, let the field officials know that you may be arriving late to the field or that you may need to leave a round to take part in your heat. The officials are usually very accommodating and will try their best to ensure you get at least two rounds of whatever event you’re doing (high jump excepted – if you leave the comp, you have to jump at the height the bar is at when you return)
  • Results on the night will appear on Roster as soon as is practicable after the event. In the case of the field events, some results may even appear during the competition.
  • Grand Prix points and the new EA PB Grades will not appear on the same night, but should be available on the NECAA website the following day – at some point! Just a quick note about the new grades – these now range from 1-9 with 9 being the equivalent of the old grade 1 (don’t shoot the messenger, blame EA for complicating the system!)
  • One last point – KEEP YOUR NUMBER!! You will use the same number for every NEGP event, don’t lose it or throw it away!
