Another successful NEGP season was concluded on Monday evening with the traditionally well attended presentation evening. The winning athletes had an entertaining evening receiving their well earned awards, with international athlete Richard Kilty being the guest of honour at the event. The Colin Miller athlete of the season award was presented to Eli Adams of North Shields Polytechnic for an impressive season of high jumping.
The evening concluded with a special presentation to Chris Betts who, as some of you may know, has stepped down as the NECAA T&F Secretary. Over the past 20 years under the guidance of Chris the NEGP has developed and embraced modern technology so that we can cater for more events and athletes and all the fixtures usually fill up within a few hours. Richard Kilty and NECAA President Bill McGuirk presented Chris with a small memento in appreciation of all his hard work and efforts over the years.
